The Schuylkill Canal Classic is back for the third year! The event is a fundraiser event for the Schuylkill Canal Association. Again, we’ve listened to the participants and have modified the format to a “drag race” event, to accommodate more teams this year. The event is planned for Monday, August 14th from 12:00 to 8:00 PM at The Fitzwater Station in Port Providence, PA. Use this is the page to register a team for the canoe race, become a sponsor, and/or register a dunk tank participant. Separate registration is required for the canoe race, sponsorship, and dunk tank.
The canoe race is limited to a single two-person team per establishment. Registration will close at 11:59 PM on Sunday, August 13, 2023, or when 16 teams have registered. Each team registration includes a t-shirt for each racer and one for the establishment. Canoes, paddles, and life jackets are included with registration. The canoe race is a double elimination, blind draw tournament. Each race will last approximately 5 minutes and be a “drag race” format. Canoe race participants will be required to sign a release of liability waiver.
Sponsorship includes a logo on the event t-shirt and on the Schuylkill Canal Website after the event, one t-shirt will be provided to each sponsor. We will provide an email address for logos upon completion of sponsorship information. Sponsorship information must be received by August 7, 2023 to be included on the promotional material.
Dunk tank participants should be willing to spend approximately 30 minutes in the dunk tank. Dunk tank participants will be required to sign a release of liability waiver.
DJ Big Daddy will be spinning the music again this year for the event.
